FINALLY!

Joshua's first day of school!

Joshua has been waiting two years for this day. His first day of Kindergarten. Last year he watched his new school being built and finished, but he was so upset when he found out he would have to go to preschool one more year (three years total). Today he got up and got ready ( 6:30am) and put on his backpack that he has been saving for two years (preschool wouldn't let them bring backpacks) and we were the first ones to wait at the gate of the kindergarten corral for twenty minutes alone before the other kids started to show up. We got lots of pictures as we waited.
All the children lined up outside Mrs. Warren's class. We went inside and found Joshua's name tag. When I had to tell Weston that they didn't have a name tag for him he cried for ten minutes. After finding the cubbies and bathroom the kids sat on the rainbow rug. A girl by Josh was sad to see her mommy might leave and Josh looked at her and then her mom and said, "you don't cry in Kindergarten". I just looked the other way. They all stood and did the pledge and then Mrs. Warren read a story and we said goodbye. I didn't cry, I'll cry when he graduates from BYU. I did takes some big deep breathes when he got out of the car with Jordan.

Joshua has three girls from primary in his school class. All the boys are together in another class. I hope that will keep him from being too hyper the first weeks (until he makes more friends to be hyper with).

I am wishing we were starting school today. I just have to keep telling myself, two more weeks. Landon is SO bored and now with everyone in school, he is going crazy. Josh is SO cute. I love when they are excited to do something. No bartering to get them ready, no tears, that is awesome. What a cutie pie!!!

I am glad that he was excited. Max was a little anxious, but really enjoyed it! I wish I could have gone with him, but Jason took some great pictures! They share the same teachers! Thank you for the birthday wishes! You are an amazing friend, and I feel blessed to know you!

Josh looks so little next to that fence. I'm glad that he is comfortable with going to school and that he didn't cry! I love his comment, you must have prepped him. I keep telling her what big kids do and don't do in kindergarten in hopes that she will behave apropriately.

Josh is a stud and looks like a little man, I love it! He is going to learn so much. Enjoy his enthusiasm now because in several years they would rather stay home and sleep.
